Sponge sheet material is also called foam sheet or expanded and sponge rubbers. The polymer material offers improved compressibility over many other rubber composites used in gasket applications. Dobson Gaskets maintain a comprehensive stock of closed or open cell sheet materials or can supply other sponge or foam gasket materials at highly competitive prices.
Open cell sponge gasket materials are composed of connected cells that allow the passage of air or gas to pass through under compression. Materials include reticulated foams, plasterzotes, PVC foam, Polyurethane, Polyethalene
Closed cell sponge and foam materials are composed of unconnected cells that resist contamination from moisture, dust, air or grit. Materials include EPDM, neoprene, silicon, Polyurethane, Polyethalene
Sponge gaskets are manufactured in-house from grades of sponge and foam materials, which is precision cut in-house using CNC, waterjet and punch press machinery. Our state-of-the-art production processes guarantee the accuracy and consistency of all the sponge and foam gaskets we produce.
Our full turnkey service includes help with materials specification, CAD design, manufacture and worldwide distribution. Equally, we can produce single or multiple gaskets from designs and templates. All gaskets are supplied to recognised national and international standards.
Sponge and foam materials are available in a wide variety of sheet sizes and thicknesses. Bespoke materials can also be manufactured and converted in-house to suit individual requirements. For more information about specific materials and conversions, please get in touch with our technical team.

Our highly experienced technicians can advise you on the best sheet materials and manufacturing processes for a wide range of gasket applications.
Widely used in sealing and insulating applications across a range of industries, foam and sponge gaskets are manufactured from open and closed cell materials. Open cell foam gaskets offer excellent shock or vibration resistance, while closed cell gaskets have good environmental properties for external use.
We supply a vast range of gasket materials, available to buy directly or order from us. For more information visit the Gasket Sheet Materials page
