Products can be printed with serial, part and batch numbers, barcodes and even logos or branding information. For many sectors, such as the petrochemical industry, parts traceability is a legislative requirement and product printing can be an effective way to speed discovery.
How Continuous Printing WorksCIJ printers can mark both flat and curved surfaces via a non-contact printing method that expels thousands of tiny ink droplets from the printhead at high speed. These droplets are charged by an electrode to allow for the correct positioning of the dot matrix print regardless of the material or its shape and size. Waste droplets are recirculated to avoid waste.
The use of solvents in the ink, such as ketones and alcohols, aids adhesion, giving the ink the ability to "bite" into the material and dry quickly.
