Butyl Rubber Gaskets

Butyl gaskets are advanced sealing components designed for industrial applications. These gaskets are crafted from high-quality butyl rubber, known for its exceptional resistance to moisture, heat, and chemicals. Butyl gaskets offer airtight and watertight seals, making them ideal for a wide range of industries, including automotive, construction, and manufacturing. Their versatility, resilience, and resistance to environmental factors make them an excellent choice for a wide array of applications.

The Manufacture of Butyl Gaskets

The production of butyl gaskets involves a series of carefully controlled steps to create high-quality sealing components, from raw material selection to moulding, curing and surface treatments.  The manufacturing process for butyl gaskets is designed to produce consistent and reliable sealing components that meet stringent performance requirements across a range of industries. Stringent quality control and attention to material composition ensure that butyl gaskets provide effective and long-lasting seals in demanding applications.

At Dobson Gasket, we provide a comprehensive turnkey service to our clients. From materials specification and CAD design to manufacturing and worldwide distribution, we handle every step of the process. Butyl Gasket Materials

Butyl Rubber is a synthetic elastomeric material comprising of a blend of isobutylene and isoprene. Due to this combination of materials, Butyl is an excellent shock absorber and has low moisture and gas permeability, making it suitable for a wide range of commercial applications. Butyl is available in two varieties of Shore hardness - 60SH (B70) and 65SH (SM147). Please contact us for more information about the specific gasket materials for your application.

Material Temperature Range Tensile Strength Abrasion Resistance Download
Butyl 60SH (B70)  min -45 max +130 °C 3.0 MPa 190 mm3
Butyl 65SH (SM147)  min -40 max +140 °C 5.0 MPa 190 mm3
