Dobson Gaskets recently enjoyed a memorable day at Ripon Races as part of the company’s event sponsorship.

The sponsorship included the opportunity to select the best-turned-out horse. This honour was given to our special guest, Alex Muncie, who retired at the end of 2025 after serving as our sales representative in Scotland for 17 years.

Alex and Lynda Muncie, pictured above with a representative from Ripon Races, also met horse trainers and learned more about the work involved in preparing horses for race day.

Originally a miner, Alex moved into gasket sales in Scotland before joining Dobson Gaskets. During his 17 years with us, he helped grow our Scottish customer base from just five or six accounts to more than 200.

His work helped us establish relationships with breweries and distilleries, valve and pump servicing companies, fire engine manufacturers and healthcare organisations across Scotland.

The day provided a fitting opportunity to celebrate Alex’s outstanding contribution to Dobson Gaskets and our growth in Scotland. Everyone here wishes Alex and Lynda a long and happy retirement!
